Our nation belongs to the legacy raised on values such as justice, wisdom, compassion, kindness, honesty, hard work, contributing to society, and elegance. Türkiye is preparing for the future of the Türkiye Century with determined steps in the educational realm. Turkish education system aims to raise wise and virtuous young generations whose ideals consist of doing good, beneficial, and amiable for the nation and humanity. Our education system seeks to create a society with patriotic consciousness and enculture a national identity above all ideological identities. It is also among the goals to raise young generations of critical thinkers, problem solvers, responsibility-takers, and decision-makers with values and ideals. Our ideal young generations will keep up with modern civilization and effectively create and develop civilization.
With these ideals in mind, the Turkish Republic National Ministry of Education enhanced The Century of Türkiye Education Model. It gradually brought it into force in preschools, first and fifth grades at the elementary level, and the ninth grades at the secondary level, beginning with the 2024-2025 academic year. We aim to analyze the results of the implementation process and evaluate the model's effectiveness to provide implications for teachers and students. Towards this goal, the Secondary Education General Directorate and Educational Technology and Innovation General Directorate collaborate to prepare the first International Education Congress in Ankara between June 3-4, 2025.
The First International Education Congress seeks to delve into the challenges that educators face to execute the model and understand how stakeholders perceive the innovative model in the Turkish education system. The organization will also reveal the ways to improve the Türkiye Century Education Model and appreciate and popularize the successful practices of teachers. The congress participants will exchange ideas about innovative and timely education, which will develop strategies to enhance the sustainability and effectiveness of the Model at the international level.
The panel presentations at the Congress will examine the Model from different perspectives and provide a holistic perspective to the participants. Also, the booths of the contributing institutions will enable the information exchange about innovative applications of the Türkiye Century Education Model and will create a beneficial source for the participating educators and academics. These booths will provide essential data about theoretical and practical examples and technological innovations, which will help the participants evaluate educational developments holistically.
The honorary president of the Congress is the Minister of National Education, Associate Professor Dr. Yusuf TEKIN. The Congress will host guests from national and international institutions, the general authorities of Ministry directorates, academics, and educators.
